While we were out in Cancun at the Leadership Mastermind Retreat, we wanted to do something besides enjoy the luxury that running a successful online business affords us.

Sometimes it’s easy to forget that there are those who don’t get to enjoy the nicer things, who struggle on a daily basis to get the things that we consider basic requirements.

So we came together and built and decorated some bicycles for some at risk, underprivileged girls at a local orphanage.

The smiles on these girls’ faces lit up the room, their excitement was contagious and it was a beautiful reminder of how we should have an attitude of gratitude every day, and appreciate the people and the things we have the good fortune to have in our lives.

We’d love you to watch the short video, just click the play button and remember to turn up the sound…

The post 3 key Stress Reducers for Entrepreneurs first appeared on Digital Altitude.]]>
While entrepreneurs around the world manage various types of businesses, one variable is common among them all: being an entrepreneur is incredibly stress-inducing.

Whatever the entrepreneur’s situation, whether you are just starting out or are far into the business game, there will always be stressors in your way. Failed deals, bad investments, a lack of effective marketing, the inability for others to see the vision of your cause…the list goes on and on. These situations or occurrences can be avoided in some situations, but most of the time they require effort on your part to reduce their negative impact.

Here are 3 stress reducers, specially tailored for entrepreneurs, that are crucial to helping you better handle your stress levels, thus allowing for more success in your business:

Evaluate what you can and cannot control.

There are plenty of things to worry about with an up-and-coming business, but don’t let yourself worry about more than you need to. Some things you can control, but gauge your current concerns to determine what concerns you cannot control. Stephen R. Covey in his book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, suggests that we first need to find out where we are focusing our time. Do we spend more time facing concerns within our circle of influence, or are we putting our time into trying to solve what’s outside of our control? Once we determine that, then it becomes easier to direct our time toward those tasks within our control. Start small, if you only have control over minimal tasks, focus on those tasks and shut out the rest. Do what’s within your power and you’ll be more productive with your time.

And delegate!

Just because you’ve gotten this far as an entrepreneur doesn’t mean that you can do everything, and it doesn’t mean that you have to. As your business expands, your resources and delegation need to as well. With help from others, your circle of influence can also expand and your productivity within your business will increase as well.

Putting more on your plate isn’t going to help you in the long run, in fact you may miss out on some opportunities because you wear yourself thin stressing about what you can’t control. So take a step back and evaluate what outside factors are causing you stress, let those go, and focus on what’s within your power to change or manage.

Be proactive.

Even when you’ve evaluated your situation, sometimes what’s in your control can still be overwhelming. When this happens, choose to be proactive and take charge of how you respond to the situation. Don’t let the stressors put a toll on you, choose to not let them affect you in that negative manner. This may sound like poor or unreasonable advice, the advice that sounds good on paper, but is near impossible in the real world. If you are thinking that, you may be reacting to situations more than you are acting on them to make a change.

Reality always has to be faced, and it’s true, the hard facts are hard. But what you do with them is going to determine how you manage stress. Covey also addresses this issue, and he notes that on one hand you can say, “That’s just the way it is,” and let the stress envelop you. Or, you can be self-aware and see your capability to be innovative and make the most of the situation. You’ll find yourself with more opportunities rather than closed doors, thus moving your company’s vision forward.

Remember, it’s okay to slow down.

Especially as you start your business or as it picks up speed, you don’t want to wear yourself thin. It won’t be good for your health, but it also will put a strain on your company and its productivity. Scheduling in time to meditate, to go running, to do yoga, or whatever it may be that calms you down, is necessary to maintaing balance within your business.

It may seem like there aren’t enough hours in the day to eat breakfast, get enough sleep, or go to spin class twice a week, especially when running a business. Be proactive and make the time. You’ll be amazed how much a little sleep or exercise can help increase that productivity. When you schedule in time to slow down, you’re giving your mind a break as it only has to focus on one task at that moment. Your mind needs that time. You need that time.

Face the reality that you can’t do it all, and don’t let that stress you out. This is one of those things out of your control; no one can do it all.

The variables in our lives that cause stress can’t always be eradicated, but that doesn’t mean the worry they bring us cannot be alleviated with the right practices.

Is it possible to have money and to be happy? Studies have been done researching this question, but looking at the facts, it seems that it is not so far-fetched to have money and happiness simultaneously. The following are a few suggestions to do just that:

Look at what will give you long-term gains on investments

Saving some money here and there is smart and applaudable, but if you’re looking to make even more money, you have to think bigger. Making changes like a new insurance or phone plan, cutting back on large expenses, or a change in salary are investments that over time see greater results than occasional frugal spending.

This doesn’t mean that frugality is a sin, it is commendable and something to strive for. Over time, these small choices can lead to greater investments, too. But what about when one is so frugal that they miss out on opportunities for memorable experiences? Or when someone obsesses so much over saving a buck that they let their worry get in the way of their happiness? Both are bad.

Learn to be frugal, to make choices on where you spend your money that will be a good investment, whether to bring in more money or to bring you something that will look back on with fondness. Being wise with your money never sounded so hard, but it is possible.

Don’t “Treat Yo’ Self” everyday

Fans of the popular TV show, “Parks and Recreation,” mark in their calendars “Treat Yo’ Self Day,” a day when the show’s characters shirk off work to pamper themselves and buy whatever they want. They look forward to this day all year long, what they claim to be the “best day of the year.” Similar feelings surround the holidays, or birthdays, days when we choose to spend money we wouldn’t normally spend because it is for a special occasion.

What makes that reward worthwhile is the uncommonness of it. If we were to reward ourselves constantly, those rewards wouldn’t be treated as something special, but as just part our daily lives.

Thus, when making more money, don’t splurge too much or you’ll lose the excitement and pleasure that comes from such a reward. Also, if you “Treat Yo’ Self” every time you get a paycheck or some extra money, that money will dwindle quickly.

But Still be Sure to “Treat Yo’ Self”

This is not meant to contradict the previous suggestion. Giving yourself too many rewards can be detrimental to your bank and to your wellbeing, but it is good to indulge yourself every so often. After all, having a reward can motivate us to work harder.

Remember the first suggestion and think of investments you can make to “Treat Yo’ Self,” one’s that don’t put too much of a dent on your paycheck, but also give you a sense of freedom. A small, much-needed family vacation, a day visiting some nearby sites, a night-out. Pick what makes you happy and something within your means. These don’t have to be extravagant excursions, just something meaningful.

Take Action

The ones who make money are the ones who aren’t afraid to put their boots on and get to work. If you find you aren’t getting the results you want, try something else, but try something! Ramit Sethi, author of acclaimed book, I Will Teach You To Be Rich, gives his three suggestions for ways you can take action:

  1. Ask for a raise. This goes back to searching for what’s going to give you those long-term investment gains. Sethi claims that asking for a raise is a clear way of proactively trying to earn more money, and the investment is larger, especially when it lasts longer. By doing this, you are taking in the bigger picture of making more money, and should feel satisfied by your hard work qualifying you for such a raise.
  2. Making money on the side. Sethi suggests using your hobbies and passions to make some extra money, as well. The increase may not be as large or originally self-evident as a pay raise, but every bit helps. Plus, you are doing something that you love, bringing you self-fulfillment and happiness.
  3. Increase income with another business. Sethi’s guide also gives helpful tips to creating and sustaining an online business. This can also be considered one of those long-term investments, if done right. If you choose a field that excites you, earning more money won’t seem mundane, but will add to your happiness. You may just need the guidance to get there.

Happiness and money are not always interconnected, but there are smart ways to make more money and do what makes you happy. It starts right where you are.

The post How to Stay Focused on Your Entrepreneurial Goals first appeared on Digital Altitude.]]>
How many of us set goals and then never actually reach them? Too many.  According to the University of Hertfordshire, 50% of people make meaningful New Year’s resolutions but a whopping 78% of them never actually reach that goal.

There are many reasons why people fail to stay focused and accomplish their goals.  It could simply be a lack of motivation. The goal just doesn’t seem that important, especially when compared to everything else.  Sometimes, life simply gets in the way.  There could be an endless barrage of emergencies, family functions, work, technology, or any other number of things that could prevent you from focusing on your goals.

Everyone has good intentions to accomplish their goals in the beginning.  Otherwise, they wouldn’t be setting them.  However, to actually reach your goals, you have to stay focused when everything else starts coming at you.  Doing so can be tricky.  Luckily, there are plenty of tips and techniques you can utilize to make it easier for you to stay focused on your goals and actually reach them.

Write Down Your Goals

You have probably heard this advice a lot but that’s because it works.  Writing down your goals will have a more lasting effect on you and help you stay focused.  There’s something about physically writing something down that makes it seem more real and more important.

In addition, when writing out your goals, you have to be specific enough to put them on paper.  It won’t be “I think I want to do something kind of like this” as it would be if you merely kept it in your head.  Rather, it would be more like “My first goal is to accomplish X by this date” etc.  Being specific really helps you focus on what you actually want and helps you actually accomplish your goals.

After you’ve written down your goals, you want to keep them handy.  Hang them up or place them on your desk, but make sure they are in a place where you will see them everyday.  Even though you have written them down, if you aren’t constantly reminded to focus on your goals, then you will probably forget about them.

Narrow Your List

It’s great and absolutely essential to success to have goals, but how many do you have?  It is entirely possible to have too many goals at one time.  When you have too many goals and dreams you want to reach, it’s easy to lose focus and feel overwhelmed.  When that happens, you won’t actually reach any of them.

How do you fix this?  The answer is simple.  You narrow your list.  While it can be hard to prioritize which goals are the most important, it’s something you have to do if you want to accomplish any of your goals, at all.

Start by picking a maximum of three goals to work on at a time.  If you need less, then pick less but any more might end up killing your motivation.  Once you’ve chosen the most important ones, focus on them but don’t throw away the others.  Put them on a  “someday” list.  That will give you more motivation to focus on your current goals and accomplish them so you can eventually move on to the others.

Create Mini-Goals

Do you ever feel like your goals are too big and there’s no way to reach them?  Many people do and that can make a hard task even harder.   Now, I’m not saying you should make your goals smaller because you shouldn’t.  Instead, you need to create mini-goals to reach your ultimate goal.

Some people will call this breaking down your goals or creating milestones for your goals.  Whatever you call it, the concept is the same.  In order to accomplish your goals and stay focused, you need to have a plan for how you will do so.  If your goal is to learn how to play the piano, then set up the necessary steps.  For example, Step 1: learn the names of the notes, Step 2: learn the types of notes, Step 3: practice scales, and so on.

When you have a series of mini-goals to focus on, you’ll feel less overwhelmed.  It’s easier to focus in on one small thing at a time, rather than trying to reach the big picture immediately.  By completing small steps at a time, you will stay motivated and maintain your enthusiasm for your ultimate goal.

Your Turn

If you want to be successful, then you have to stay focused and accomplish your goals.  While it may seem difficult initially, you can reach them by writing your goals down, narrowing your list, and creating mini-goals.  Following these techniques, you will stay motivated and enthusiastic about reaching your goals and won’t be one of the 78% that never get past the planning stage.

Don’t wait for the perfect moment, decide what your goals are today and begin working towards them.  The sooner you do, then the sooner you will actually accomplish them.

What other tips do you have to stay focused and accomplish your goals?

The post 5 Ways Meditation Will Make you More Productive first appeared on Digital Altitude.]]>
The business world is growing more and more competitive.  If you want to remain relevant and keep your business in good standing, then you have to put in more hours.  Putting in more hours means working harder and working harder will inevitably lead to more stress.

That shouldn’t be too surprising.  Running a business is stressful whether you are starting out, or as mentioned above, just trying to stay afloat.  Unfortunately, being too stressed out can have negative effects on your health and your productivity.  If you aren’t productive, then putting in all those hours won’t do you any good. However, there are ways to manage your stress and meditating daily is one of them.  There are several ways that meditation will make you more productive but here are 5 of the most important ones.

Handle Stress Better

Have you ever gotten to the point where you are so stressed out that you just don’t know what to do? It’s easy to move from that feeling to complete demotivation and not complete anything at all.  Daily meditation can help defeat that.

In fact, the Mayo Clinic even reports that daily meditation clears away the information overload that builds up and adds to your stress.  When you meditate, you can let go of the things that are unimportant and focus only on the most necessary things.  That way you can put your energy into being productive and not lose it to stress.

Improve Brain Functions

Another way that meditation will make you more productive is by increasing your brain’s functions.  Have you ever heard of gyrification? Gyrification is the “folding of the cerebral cortex as a result of growth, which in turn may allow the brain to process information faster.”

According to a 2012 study, gyrification happens more in people who meditate often.  Basically, if you start meditating daily, your brain may be able to process information quicker.  The quicker you can process information, then the quicker you can respond, and the more productive you’ll be.

That’s not all though.  Not only can meditation aid in gyrification, but it can also slow down the aging process of your brain too.  When you meditate, there are structural changes in your brain that improve its sensory, cognitive, and emotional processing capabilities.

Stay Healthier

In that article from the Mayo Clinic that we referenced earlier, it says that meditation can help you stay healthier.  This is especially true if you have a health condition that is worsened by constant stress.

How does this help you be more productive? Think about it.  If you aren’t feeling well, how capable are you of focusing on your work tasks? Probably not very capable at all.  If you can prevent yourself from getting sick through meditation, you’ll be able to focus better and be more productive.

Sleep Better

Taking the time to meditate before bed will help your brain calm down and stop thinking about all the tasks you’ve completed and those you still need to do.  Getting a good night’s sleep is important for your health and your productivity.   Just like getting sick makes it more difficult to focus, so does a lack of sleep.  Consider meditating before bed to help you sleep better.

Increased Attention Span

One of the biggest benefits of meditation on productivity is the increased attention span you’ll get from it.  With so many things coming at us from every direction in today’s world, our attention span continues to drop.  With daily meditation, you can start to fix that.

Basically, meditating helps you access, process, and release information in a faster way than before; keeping your energy and attention levels high.  This allows you to focus on the information you really need and stay engaged long enough to finish your project.

Start Daily Meditation Today

Gone are the days when only yoga instructors and ‘hippies’ meditated.  Today, lawyers, bankers, professors, and so many others are doing it because of the enormous benefits it provides.  Meditation will make you more productive in these 5 ways, and many others, if you do it daily.

What are you waiting for? Start meditating today and watch your productivity levels soar!

The post 5 Reasons why Even Bright Entrepreneurs Fail first appeared on Digital Altitude.]]>
The frightening truth is that 90% of startups fail, even many startups that were built upon seemingly exceptional ideas and even more brilliant founders. What were the flaws in their plans, and how can they be avoided?

By looking at trending traits that seem to be consistent among failing businesses, we find that most of the poor decisions that lead to a company’s downfall are a result of overconfidence. These failed entrepreneurs didn’t necessarily start their businesses on a bad idea—they had reasons to be confident. But a few small decisions made with that overconfident mindset, kept these entrepreneurs from coming out on top.

Little mistakes can make a world of a difference. Some mistakes are accidental or cannot be prevented, but others you can watch for and catch before they lead to worse consequences. Here are 5 mistakes to look for that even the most intelligent entrepreneurs make.

They Feel Entitled

It is necessary for entrepreneur’s to have confidence in themselves, but that overconfidence can lead to a sense of entitlement. If as an entrepreneur you believe that you or your product deserves special treatment, then it’s likely you’ll fail to work for the rewards you think you deserve without earning them. Any startup requires effort and diligence. Expecting problems to work out on their own is wishful thinking.

They Don’t Know How to Sell Their Idea

You believed in your business because your idea stood out from the rest. It was something that hadn’t been done or hadn’t been done right and you saw your opening. But getting others to see that is the tricky part. We can feel entitled about ourselves as entrepreneurs, but we can also feel that way about what we’re selling. It’s easy to fall prey to false ideas that because we believe something is good, others will inherently believe that also.

Not everyone thinks the way we do, and believing that they do is not a wise move, no matter how brilliant your idea is. One CEO put it this way, “Most entrepreneurs have passion and they fall in love with an idea. But not all of them have the necessary skills to make the market fall in love with that idea.

They Will Not Listen to Other’s Opinions

“Sticking to one’s guns” might be glorified in the movies, but in the real world it can be a risky move. A business is never built by one person alone. No matter how intelligent the entrepreneur may be, without the proper help and guidance from others, their business may fail without them even knowing it.

You need someone around who is going to ask you the tough questions or let you know if you are missing red flags warning you of huge mistakes. Anyone in a position of power faces those people who try to get into their inner circle by being a yes-man or -woman. But those aren’t the people who will give you the opinions you need to keep your business alive.

They Don’t Pay Attention to the Market

As an entrepreneur, you need to be constantly looking at your competition, finding a unique spot in your chosen market. Your brand won’t stand out on its own without you helping it along, but that requires you to keep up with how the market works. For example, one advertising strategy that may have dominated your industry years ago now may be losing it vigor. But if you don’t keep up with market trends, you may miss that and suffer from it.

Over 40% of companies fail because there isn’t a market need for their product. Don’t get so caught up in your brilliant idea or how well you’ve dealt with past hiccups that you neglect to keep up with the ever-changing market. Luckily, there are strategists you can hire who are trained to notice when you need to alter your business plan and adapt to keep and expand your pool of interested customers.

They Disregard Important Financial Decisions

The second largest reason for why startups fail is that they “run out of cash.” But if the founders were smart enough to create the startup, shouldn’t they have been aware of their finances enough to notice if they were running out of cash? Successful entrepreneur, Neil Patel, said on this subject that the reason these companies run out of money is because they aren’t taking the opportunities to grow. He says, “ If your startup can grow fast, you can effectively bypass some of the biggest startup killers.” Too much growth too fast can also result in running out of funds, but Patel assures that, “Rapid growth early on is a sure sign of future success.”

Keep confidence in your business endeavors, but be humble enough to make changes when needed. That humility can allow you and your company to find those opportunities for growth and to be ready to go after them.

Why Perfectionism is Harmful to Your Online Business https://digitalaltitude.co/perfectionism-harmful-online-business/ https://digitalaltitude.co/perfectionism-harmful-online-business/#respond Sat, 21 Dec 2019 08:20:30 +0000 http://digitalaltitude.ispacetechnolabs.com/?p=1287 Striving to be the best we can be isn’t a sin, nor should it be considered a fault. The post Why Perfectionism is Harmful to Your Online Business first appeared on Digital Altitude.]]>
Striving to be the best we can be isn’t a sin, nor should it be considered a fault. But when that desire is taken to the extreme and morphed into a perfectionist mindset, then it can be detrimental to you and your business.

Even knowing that such a mindset isn’t healthy, “people still misguidedly value perfectionism.” Cultures are continuing to regard perfection as a standard to achieve. Children learn from parents and mentors that “practice makes perfect” and expect their efforts to be nothing less. Or they grow up hearing that failure can be a good thing, yet avoid it at all costs.

That need for perfection is damaging the way we value our efforts and is harming our businesses more than we realize. Watch out for these moments when perfectionism limits your business’s growth, as well as your own.

When You Receive Critical Feedback

Criticism does not fare well for perfectionists. As a perfectionist, you don’t want to learn how to improve, you want to be at the pinnacle of your performance already. Any form of feedback feels like a personal attack to your character.

Such feedback, however, is crucial to your progress as an entrepreneur. Without it, you may not always know where changes need to be made. There is always room for improvement, and that’s not a bad thing! When someone offers you feedback, be open to their suggestions and use them to your advantage.

When Tasks Don’t Get Finished

Another common trait among perfectionists is an inability to complete assignments. You spend hours on a small task, fueled by an innate need for each project to be perfect. This ensures quality work, but often leaves other more important tasks left undone.

In this way, perfectionism may be putting a huge toll on your daily productivity. Evaluate how long projects are taking you compared to how long they should be taking you. Set a deadline for completion and stop working when you reach that deadline, regardless of how imperfect you may think your work is. As a business owner, this can be difficult when you want to put your whole heart and soul into each project. You still can give your all, just remember to let go of control when your workload is becoming unbalanced.

When You Expect Perfection From Others

None of us are perfect, and that includes yourself. Setting too high of a standard can damage relationships with the people you need for your company to run smoothly. Performance levels will go down if you are expecting too much from those you work with. Plus, you begin to unintentionally alienate yourself from these employees.

When You Fail to Make Rational Decisions

Being the leader of a growing company requires you to make some difficult decisions made with careful consideration. But when your perfectionism is going out of control, anxiety levels raise. A guilty conscience that so often accompanies many perfectionists results in increased stress. Under this type of emotional distress, making a decision with a clear head can be challenging.

Travis Bradberry, cofounder of TalentSmart and expert in emotional intelligence, advises those facing such strains to “slow down the negative momentum of your thoughts” by taking a moment to write down what you are thinking and feeling. Seeing your thoughts on paper can help you to decipher whether or not these thoughts are valid and logical.

When Your Fear Holds You Back

Some opportunities are riskier than others. Being an entrepreneur means that you’re willing to take a risk, even if that could lead to failure. If fear of that failure is holding you back from potential opportunities, it’s time to let go of those fears.

Perfectionists also seek constant approval and are afraid of being rejected. This fear, too, can hold you back from taking chances. You shouldn’t always need praise to move forward with an idea. Where would our world be if so many of the greats before us lived that way?

Check your behavior and habits often to make sure you’re not falling into a perfectionist mindset. For your business to succeed, you need to face failure head on, properly manage stress, set your expectations within reason, and be open to growth and improvement.

The post Accumulate Wealth With These 3 Simple Steps first appeared on Digital Altitude.]]>
There are some very simple steps that you need to understand if you want to accumulate wealth. Those steps are Make Money (pretty obvious, but stay with me), Save Money, and Invest Wisely. That’s it. By following these three simple steps, you will build the wealth that you want.

Now, while the ideas are simple, let’s delve a little deeper into what each of these three steps entails.

Make Money

You need to be earning money to make more money. That concept is as old as time but it is necessary to understand. You can’t accumulate wealth if you don’t have money to save or invest with.

There are several things to consider when you are looking for an opportunity that will allow you to build the wealth that you want. First, ask yourself what you love to do. You need to find a stable situation that you can work at for several years. So why not do something that you love and can work at for a long time?

Next, what are you good at or what could you learn to be good at? When you are good at what you do you will make more money. That leads to more money and helps you accumulate wealth quicker.

The last thing you should consider is what will pay well. You won’t be able to accumulate wealth if what you love to do allows you to barely make ends meet. Consider something else.

If you aren’t currently involved in something already, online business is a good place to start. The digital marketplace is booming right now. With more people than ever before using the Internet to shop and research, online business has a high potential for accumulating wealth quickly.

Save Money

Simply, if you want to accumulate wealth, then you need to make more than you spend and save that extra money. That extra money is great to build up emergency funds and also to use for investing. If you are struggling to save money, then try these tips.

First, evaluate your needs and wants. Obviously food, shelter and clothing are needs and a giant flat screen TV is likely a want. This concept gets a little trickier when you consider your investments. Paying money towards business consulting might seem like a want, but could actually be a need if you want your business to succeed.

Adjust your spending according to your needs. Life changes and so will your budget. Make sure to constantly evaluate and reevaluate how you should be spending your money.

Invest in savings plans when applicable. Oftentimes, employers will match the amount of money that you put into your 401(k) if you’re working a job, etc. That’s a great way to accumulate wealth.

Don’t be afraid to splurge every now and then. After all, that’s why you’re saving money right? You want to have a higher standard of living. Just make sure to keep your splurging in check and only do it every now and then.

Invest Money

You have to invest your money if you want to accumulate wealth. Investing in modest, conservative ways won’t dramatically increase your wealth. You have to take risks if you want to succeed. The higher the risk, the higher the payout if all goes well. Make sure to monitor your situation and decide what you should invest in. Talk to a financial planner if you are unsure about what to do.

Remember, investing doesn’t mean only investing in the stock market. Invest in yourself by getting more education. Invest in your business by hiring business professionals to guide your business in the right direction. Invest in real estate because it usually will increase in value. You need to invest your money wisely so make sure to invest in something that will really help you.

When it comes to getting more money, there are no overnight tricks or fancy technology. It simply comes with hard work, discipline and following the rules above. Make your Money, Save your Money, and then Invest your Money Wisely. Do that and you will begin to accumulate wealth in an effective way.

The post 5 Keys For Financial Freedom With Digital Altitude first appeared on Digital Altitude.]]>
The very fabric of nature is freedom.

In fact, it is unnatural for any part of nature to be unfree.

And it is incredibly natural for us as humans, naturally free beings, to bristle at anything that threatens to take that freedom away.

Yet Americans, despite the incredible freedoms that they have, still do everything they can to live a life of crushing servitude.

What do I mean by this?

21% of people in the United States carry mortgage debt well into their 70s.

Only 20% of people stick to a budget they make for more than a year, despite knowing that they really need to.

These numbers represent people who are not free. They are shackled to a job and a mortgage.

They live paycheck-to-paycheck.

And if they lose their job… chances are they will lose their house within six months if they don’t replace it.

You may even see yourself closer to these scary statistics than you would like to.

Yet one things seems to separate the people who truly break free to experience a life unfettered from financial worries.

Attitude.

I’ve noticed that people who financially struggle…  or who are in a financially tough spot… carry almost a grudge against people more successful than them.  You see this all the time in the constant cries to tax the rich because they MUST pay their “fair share.”

Perhaps underneath they are jealous and even a bit angry at seeing someone living the life that they feel they deserve.  (And they do!)

Yet, when you spend time with people who ARE successful, you rarely hear them speak with envy or jealousy.  Instead, you’ll hear them say things like:

“That great!”

“I’m so happy for them!”

“I wonder if that would work for my business too?”

Rather than pull them down, criticize them or tax them… successful people are generally excited by other people’s success as they are their own.  And, more importantly, if the people they admire are MORE successful than they are, they do everything they can to model exactly the same thing.

SO WHICH TYPE OF PERSON ARE YOU?

Do you criticize and complain?

Or do you congratulate and copy?

A negative attitude does you no favors; however, it may be tough to get rid of. So if this IS you, what can you do to shift gears towards greater success?

Key #1- Successful Secrets to Creating an Unstoppable Attitude

First, if you continually compare your income to other people’s income, then you are already limiting your own avenues for success.

As Robert Kiyosaki, author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad said, “Rich people don’t work for money; they work for freedom.”

You can have freedom anytime. As a matter of fact, you can drop all of your bills right now, become homeless, and be just as free as the people whom you pass on the street every day.

Is this the freedom you want, however? More importantly, are you comparing yourself to them? (It goes both ways.  You can feel less than people more successful and superior than people you perceive to be not as successful as you. Either view doesn’t help you progress.)

You must set your own goals when it comes to freedom. The second that you align yourself with your own purpose, you will immediately begin to feel better about your present situation, regardless of what it is.

The wise people who talk about the road to any goal being a happy journey are really trying to tell you that focusing on yourself is the best strategy towards any final destination.

When you see the leaders in our Digital Altitude family who seem to be closer to achieving their goals than you, learn to congratulate them.  Learn from them.  Model what they are doing… because you know it works!

Doing this will remove the block from your psyche that tries to make you compare yourself to others.

Practicing success is a habit you have to work at. You are biologically hardwired NOT to change.  Routine and “status quo” with absolutely no change is easy.  It preserves not only your energy, but the amount of juice your brain has to spend just to keep you alive.

Because of that, your subconscious will do everything it can to keep you in the same place.

Why?  Because change can be hard and… 10,000 years ago… dangerous.

You have to reprogram your own mind to help drive you to success.

Key #2 – Practice Your “Altitude Attitude”

Different people come into the Digital Altitude program with different mindsets.

Perhaps you grew up in a household with a great deal of negativity. This may be your starting point, and it may be a hurdle that requires more discipline from you to overcome.

Perhaps other people do not have this hurdle, but they are starting their entrepreneurial journey with less money than you.

You can never tell how someone started from where they end up; you can only see how strong a person is by their current position.

On thing is certain: you can be sure that anyone in a position of power and freedom had to overcome something in order to get there.

How do you overcome your issues, especially if you suffer from negativity? You must practice your altitude.

Here are a few tasks that you can start practicing today:

  • Become your own conduit for positive feelings.

Begin by going on a “Negativity Diet.”  Stop watching or reading the news or other negative stories.

Replace that time with watching inspiring or motivating stories or videos instead.  This one little switch will yield dramatic results in your life.

You may have to employ a bit of trial and error in order to make this a habit, but once you do you will never go back.

  • Give out positive feelings to others no matter what you feel inside.

At first, this may seem like a completely impossible task. However, once you understand and fully appreciate the counterintuitive psychology in all of us that attitude follows behavior, not the other way around, you will quickly understand how much control you have over these feelings.

This discovery alone will help catapult you to the next level of thinking from a high mindset.

  • Realize that practicing your “altitude attitude” is stamina training.

People often think they should be able to immediately change their habits or mental conditioning overnight. Oddly, no one feels this about physical training.

Just because you cannot see the 300 pound weight that your mind is lifting by changing itself does not mean this weight does not exist. We even have a term for this weight:  baggage.

It’s the negative experiences of the past that hold you back and keep you stuck.

Just know that to create a new, positive habit will take some time – just like working up to run a marathon.  You don’t try to run the whole 26.2 miles the first day.

You start by walking for bit.  Then you jog a block and walk a block.

A few weeks later you’re jogging a few miles a day.  Then five, ten, fifteen and more. Before you know it you’re able to run 40 or 50 miles in a week.

It’s the same with practicing positivity.  Start with a few small things… like making a list of the good things in your life.

Then a list of the good things that happened throughout your day.  Then a list of the nice things you said to random strangers you met.

PRACTICE IN EARNEST EVERY DAY UNTIL YOUR “ATTITUDINAL STAMINA” LASTS.

Practicing your altitude is an ongoing task – you will always fight your old habits. However, coming from a place of congratulatory positivity will gradually become easier.

Having a strong mental attitude is one of the unwritten rules that determine your success in Digital Altitude! All of those people you thought were so far ahead of you are really on the same path, and if you follow the same habits, you will achieve similar results!

Key #3 – Learn the System of Winning

The second step to feeling like a winner (and turning this feeling into quantifiable results) is to learn that you need a system in order to fully actualize all of the philosophies that determine success and freedom.

As the great Japanese swordsmen, painter and philosopher Miyamoto Musashi said, “Learn one thing, learn 1000.”

Musashi did not study to become a great swordsman, painter and philosopher. He studied one thing – the Way of the Sword. He then applied the lessons of the sword to painting and philosophy, and because he excelled in one discipline, he excelled in all three.

You already have a practically unfair advantage because you have the Digital Altitude system on your side. You also have access to the principles of success, entrepreneurialism and freedom under a proven system that has worked for many people, some of whom you have seen personally.

This should be a great inspiration for you. Now you know that you have only to follow in the footsteps of previously successful people until you reach the financial peak you are climbing for you and your family.

Fully immerse yourself into the system of Digital Altitude. Stop buying other products, books, services, and other “bright shiny objects” that seem so amazing.

Just like Musashi, the deeper that you learn a single system, the more wisdom you bring to any other discipline that you put your mind to. However, just like any student, you must focus your efforts on a single system in the beginning.

Besides, once you master Digital Altitude, you’ll realize all the other noise in the market is just wasting your time.

Key #4- Master the System… Master Success.

Whether you came into the program walking at the Aspire Level… or whether you rapidly climbed up to  Ascend, Peak or Apex, you must ask yourself:

“Do I know this system inside and out? Could I pass a quiz on it if it were given to me tomorrow? What are the main concepts that this system is trying to teach me?”

You know the system works – you see proof everyday in our private groups.

That does not mean it works automatically.

After all, if the Digital Altitude website had no visitors the system we spent over a year developing would be completely useless.

You are the final piece of the puzzle that the system needs to work. As the pilot, you need to know your controls.

Here are some of the exercises you can implement today to ensure that you understand what is expected of you as you move through the Digital Altitude system:

  • Walk before you run.

If you’re just getting started… you may want to immediately start promoting.  Don’t.  I know… shouldn’t I be encouraging you to bring as many people to the system as possible?

Yes and no.  Yes in that it makes money for everyone.  No in that until you understand the basic principles you will waste a lot of time and money.

The system takes this into account.  That’s why you have a call with your coach after every step.  At the bare minimum… you should get through the first six steps before you begin driving traffic to your links.

Because as you go through the training, you will get your very own Traffic Coach – who will show you how to get the most bank for you buck AND a Business Coach who will make sure that you have yourself set up for success.

These two coaches will make sure that you don’t fall prey to the million-and-one mistakes that most members make when they try to go it alone.

  • Follow the System.

Everyone is in a rush today.  It feels that the ability to pace yourself and take a longer view has nearly completely vanished.

Yet it is exactly this rush that is keeping you broke.  You rush to make thousands of dollars right now…  so you fall for the slick sales pages about making a bazillion dollars by Saturday night.

When Saturday night rolls around and you’re still broke… you are convinced that the program doesn’t work and you rush to the next one.  And the next one.  And the next.

Stop rushing for the next “big thing” and simply follow the system that is already proven to work.

  • Practice consistency. Systems work when they are followed over the long term. As any online traffic expert will tell you, Google will not even fully recognize your efforts until six months down the line in most cases. You have to build trust with the major search engines.

More than that, however, you have to build trust within yourself. The entrepreneurial spirit relies on the fact that a person has the wherewithal to do what must be done.

A wild, entrepreneurial spirit that cannot rely on consistency will fly about haphazardly, starting ideas and never finishing them. You bring the spirit under control when you direct it consistently at your goal.

How can you ever lose if you are deadly focused on the tasks mentioned above?

There is virtually no way that you will even have time to let your brain think about anything other than getting the work done for the day.

As positive results roll in,  you will begin to see them as less of a surprise and more of a simple reaction to your actions.

THE RULES OF PHYSICS WORK EVEN IN BUSINESS.

Allow these rules to work in your favor, you will begin to notice a natural synergy between yourself and other successful people.

Maybe even the people you may have felt jealousy for just a few days or weeks earlier.

Key #5- The Path to Happiness

Your final activity may seem like a no-brainer.

There is a reason that we saved this for last.

There is always a journey to happiness, especially for ambitious people who see themselves as separate from their goals.

If we could all jump to happiness, then everyone would do it.

The fact is that happiness is a journey, and it lies at the end of many other emotions.

These emotions must be exposed as useless or false in order for the final destination, happiness and freedom, to show themselves.

As you come to master your thoughts and emotions and finally gain control of the tides of your life, you will naturally attract success and freedom to yourself.

You will achieve your goals without feeling like you have to grind and grind and grind to get there.

WITH DIGITAL ALTITUDE, THE PATH IS LAID OUT FOR YOU.

And your Digital Altitude brothers and sisters are beside you encouraging you forward.

Imagine how happy you will feel… the size of the smile on your face… when you reach the peak to your financial summit.

We’re waiting.

And as always, let us know how Digital Altitude is working for you and how we can help you further.
